GRAS in Banfora for MIMVaC-Africa premises
Above all, the beginning of a field research study, important steps of local communication are necessary for the accession of all the actors. A coordination team, led by Dr. Sodiomon Sirima, paid a working visit to Banfora on 29 and 30 June 2020 as part of MIMVaC-Africa malaria vaccine trials. This visit has clearly achieved its desired objectives.
The delegation was first received by the Banfora Health District for a visit to the site to determine the premises that will house the vaccine trials that GRAS will conduct in the near future. Led by Dr. Boukary Bancé, Chief Medical Officer of the Banfora Health District, visitors were able to appreciate the state of the premises offered to them. While the framework for receiving a MIMVaC-Africa team is also clear that major rehabilitation and building equipment is needed. Thanks to the partnership between GRAS and the Ministry of Health, collaboration is facilitated on the ground.
The delegation then paid courtesy and information visits to the Governor, Josephine Apiou Kouara/Kaboré, and the High Commissioner, Aminata Sorgho, respectively. These two administrative authorities welcomed the actions that GRAS is taking in the region, wishing it every success in coordinating MIMVaC-Africa.
Finally, she went to donate medical products and equipment to the Regional Leadership of Health.
